In November, a sex worker lured a group of Spanish-speaking tourists into a trap after meeting them at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Janel Jeffers exchanged phone numbers with one of the individuals and later went over to their short-term rental property. The 23-year-old was at the residence for about 20 minutes when two men arrived with guns and took about $8,000 in cash and other valuables. Jeffers left the scene with the assailants.

One of the victims said that Jeffers seemed to know the men and that beforehand she was “acting strange and began to exit and enter the home’s bathroom multiple times.”

Police eventually tracked down Jeffers three months later and arrested her earlier this month. They nabbed her by responding to an online posting and had an officer pose as a customer willing to pay her $200 for her services. After her arrest, she explained that she was working that night and fled with the two robbers out of fear.

Jeffers faces charges of conspiracy kidnapping, kidnapping, and robbery. She is out on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 6.
