New Jersey’s internet gaming win was $213.6m in October 2024, the first time in the state’s history that online gaming revenue eclipsed retail casino revenue, not counting pandemic shutdown months. The figure represents an increase of 27.3% compared to the same period last year.

Retail casino win was $208.7m in October, a decrease of 8.5% from October 2023, according to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement’s (DGE) monthly report.

Sports betting and horse racing wagering revenue was $77.5m for October 2024, a drop of 16.0% versus the same month last year. New Jersey sportsbooks are still doing well overall, though, as total annual revenue is up 13.9% on last year, to $912.8m.

Golden Nugget, which is partnered with FanDuel, Betway, BetRivers, Jackpot City, and its own brand, was easily the biggest New Jersey online casino licensee in October, generating $67.1m in internet gaming win. Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City (ESPN Bet, DraftKings, PokerStars, Mohegan Sun, and its own brand) was next with $53m in online casino win.

third straight month in which New Jersey broke its previous record for online casino revenue

October was the third straight month in which New Jersey broke its previous record for online casino revenue, growing 2.6% from September. Year-to-date online casino win is $1.95bn, a jump of 23.7% over last year.

Just like the monthly number, the year-to-date revenue total for brick-and-mortar casinos is down compared to 2023, though not as much. The $2.36bn total through October is a dip of 1.6% versus 2023.
